The 1916 Memorial, located in the cemetery at the rear of the Church of the Sacred Heart, contains the graves of 14 of the executed leaders of the 1916 Rising. The cemetery also contains the graves of many soldiers who died while serving with the British army in Dublin .
The colours of various battalions of the Defence Forces formed to serve with the United Nations are laid up in the church of the Sacred Heart. The church also contains a number of British army regimental plaques.
