Reminisei Passue et Recordari Futurus
This Museum, opened in 1985, is dedicated to the memory of those who died while performing their duty at home and overseas. Located in Cork’s oldest continually occupied building immediately inside the garrison’s main gate, its core collection is a wide range of memorabilia associated with Michael Collins.
The objects and material displayed in the Museum are presented in a manner the visitor can interpret to gain an appreciation of the history of Collins Barracks as more than a story of bricks and mortar, of treasures and artefacts, but the story of the men and women who garrisoned the barracks – its soldiers, from 1801 to modern times.
